Most of the inland divers, who usually dive at the coast, have never done a shore entry and this is a pity as shore entries are cheap (you only pay for air) and usually easy. |
The Slipway: |

This site is located off Humewood beach. This is a good site for night dives due to its safe conditions. It used to be a steel launch ramp for tug boats but all that remains is a maize of twisted steel and concrete. Colourful seaweeds and Nudibranchs can be found in the holes in the sides and one may even see the occasional octopus. Easy to find once the shore markers have been pointed out. Depth: 3-7 m Difficulty: This dive is suitable for open water divers |

Postmans: |

This is a very scenic reef and is located off the Holiday Inn Garden Court. This reef is named after the old Humewood postoffice that was situated here. The reef has lots of sea fans, soft corals and sponges. Depth: 5 m |

Devil’s Reef: |

This is colourfull reef about 100m offshore and is a great place to snorkel. Just follow the storm water drain pipe opposite the Marine hotel straight out to sea. It must be dived at high tide otherwise waves are breaking over the reef. There are a few pinnacles that rise to just below the surface. There is a lot of Gorganians, soft corals and sponges on the reef together with some medium sized fish and plenty pajama sharks. There are also massive starfish to be seen. Depth: 2-9 m |
